A wonderful antique Victorian bracelet Circa 1900, set with lovely natural Pearls and Turquoise stones.
Turquoise are considered a symbol of friendship and were once said to bring good fortune to the wearer. The stone has also long being associated with the Forget me not.
‘Forget-me-not, O Lord!’ is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river. He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time when the poor knight suddenly fell in and sank to the bottom. Upon his cries to the Lord, he threw the blue posy of flowers to his loved one. Hence, the concept of remembrance, eternal love and faithfulness grow from this.
The piece is made up of pretty Rose Gold chain links and stamped 9ct on the clasp which is also fitted with a safety chain.
The bracelet looks beautiful when worn and steeped in history.
